Electric blue crayfish
|
The blue cray would make an excellent addition to the Water Lab. It is very eye-catching, easy to care for, and fun to watch. This cray isn't carnivorous, and could be put into a tank with other freshwater species.
Electric Blue Crayfish definitely live up to their name. Their electric blue color is very noticeable. These arthropods grow up to 7 inches long and can live up to 5 years with proper care. Blue crays live in freshwater and are very common in the Everglades. This cray is easy to feed, as it filter feeds off the bottom of the ground/tank. In captivity, it will feed on fish food that sinks to the bottom, however they also consume dead/decaying fish meat. Electric Blue Crayfish love to explore, so their tank should be filled with logs, rocks, and little plants. |
